puts you in the seat of a disk jockey, one that has a huge concert in Miami, if we go by the intro sequence and the preparations that it shows there.
The game is designed for mobile platforms, so there aren’t too many buttons visible on the screen. It has a modern design, a total of 10 paylines which pay both ways and an average RTP of 96.3%. Designed by ELK, DJ Wild pays up to $50,000 and mixes the modern DJ equipment with the classic fruit icons.
What We Love
The game is built with the mobile market in mind, so there aren’t too many buttons to take over the screen. The ones that are present are big and semi-transparent, placed on top of the reels. I’ve enjoyed the modern side of the game, the use of the DJ theme and the quality of the symbols placed on its reels. Even the playing cards look like they belong there, with lemons, plums or cherries made to look like 3D objects that were designed with software.
The game has only 10 lines, but allows combinations to form both ways, so they can start from the rightmost reel and go towards the left side, not just from left to right.
You also have the option to modify the bets as you need them, not just when it comes to the value, but also to the betting style that you prefer.
If you want to change things up a bit, you can go with a strategy where you always bet a certain percentage of the remaining balance (Optimizer), you can raise after you lose five consecutive times (Leveller), you can raise each time you lose (Booster) or you can raise whenever you get a win (Jumper). The standard betting system is also used, so you don’t have to try one of those strategies if you don’t want to.
Finally, for the more typical features, they are based on expanding wild re-spins. Both vertical and horizontal versions of this symbol exist. Whenever a symbol with a DJ Wild shows up, it will expand and trigger a Respin feature. You get the jackpot by landing a Jackpot DJ Wild on the 3rd reel, and you get paid 50,000 coins.
What We Do Not Like
It’s not a game for everyone, and even though I didn’t have a problem with the quality of the design, I wasn’t that impressed with the objects chosen to be used as symbols.
You get various pieces of equipment from the DJ’s arsenal, along with classic fruit icons which have an almost abstract look. I didn’t find the mix of music and fruit icons to be appropriate in this case.
Fans of the kind of music that DJs play will love this game, especially since the soundtrack contributes as well and makes it easier to enjoy. It’s also a slot machine for players that play on their smartphones or tablets, with large enough buttons to be easy to use.
