Resorts Casino, Atlantic City’s first casino property has become the fifth operator approved to offer online gambling products and services to New Jersey-located recreational gamblers. After receiving a transactional waiver issued by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (NJDGE) last week, it was announced that the Resorts Online Casino website is to go live by Friday (Feb. 20, 2015). The Resorts dotcom site is to commence with a soft launch in offering real money online gaming content deployed by platform providers NYX Gaming and Sportech, via the SNG Interactive joint venture firm.
However, the countdown message marking the hours remaining for the online casino to go live in the State of NJ was taken down, as subsequent reports have it that the NJDGE had put Resort’s soft-launch on hold. As of writing, neither Resorts and its web-based partner SNG Interactive nor the NJ regulators have issued any explanation regarding the postponement.
Nonetheless, Mark Giannantonio, the CEO of Resorts Casino had stated that Resorts commits to deliver the best-in-class gaming experience in New Jersey through the online slots and casino table games that are highly popular in Europe, and provided by their web partners Sportech and NYX Gaming. Although Resorts CEO Giannantonio made no mention of the much-awaited PokerStars partnership originally struck with the Rational Group, the ResortsCasino dotcom site indicates that the PokerStars deal will still push through in the event the latter successfully secures its NJ application. An occurrence that is quite likely, since the Rational Group and its PokerStars and Full Tilt poker brands are now fully owned by NJ-licensed Amaya Gaming.
In fact, the Head of Corporate Communications at Amaya Gaming, Eric Hollreiser, conveyed that Amaya is continuously working with the NJDGE in order to bring PokerStars to the Garden State. He gave confirmation that they remain in partnership with Resorts, while looking forward to launch PokerStars as soon as the company secures the approval of NJ Regulators.
Currently, the ResortsCasino website is offering free play version of its online offerings, featuring a diverse collection of game content integrated in SNG Interactive’s gaming platform. Some of the slot titles available include NYX Gaming’s latest online slot releases such as “Merlin’s Magic Respins,” “Foxin Wins,” and “Medusa II.”
A promotional draw launched in June 2014 to encourage membership registration at the site is still ongoing, since the promo period will end on February 27, 2015. The promo draw is open to players aged 21 years old and above, who register as a free-play member of Resorts Casino.com and the Star Card Club. Playing with any of the online casino games offered by the site, qualifies a registered member to join the promo prize draws. Every bet placed on any game entitles a registered member to an entry for each weekly draw.
Currently the prizes available for the remaining last and final draw on February 27, 2015 include five $25-worth gift cards to Landshark or Margaritaville in Atlantic City and one (1) unit Acer laptop. The other prizes that can be won but with validity dates of up to December 30, 2015 include an overnight stay at Resorts Hotel (Standard Room), $100-worth of free slot play, and $50-worth of Resort Dining voucher.
