is one of the games that WMS has released recently, and it’s a slot machine which has a very interesting, but also quite common, theme that is inspired by the Chinese. The luck element is mentioned, as it is in many other slots of theirs, but it’s not very visible on the reels.
The symbols used include Bonsai trees, fish, toads with gold coins tied to them, birds, a princess and a collection of playing cards that provides the least fun element. The slot offers 5 reels with 1024 ways to win on them, while prizes go as high as $2,500.
What We Love
If you look only at the symbols which are directly connected to the slot’s theme, I think you’re going to be satisfied with the design of the game and what it offers you. I’d wager that you’re not going to be as excited about seeing the same old playing cards that countless other slot machines are giving you. There is some small objects of Chinese origin that is placed next to some of those cards, but it’s not enough to make them attractive.
I enjoyed the slot’s ways to win, which should give you enough chances to walk away with a profit each round. The ways to win system is the usual one, which takes matching symbols from adjacent reels, and starting from the left. You get paid if you have at least three reels with matching icons. The 1024 ways to win offered here are standard for slots with four symbols per reel.

The Gold Lion symbol would be the wild, a symbol which is used as a substitute only, without offering its own prizes in this case. You need to get the wild on the right reel, with the other reels from the combo having matching symbols (and/or other wilds). Wilds substitute for all regular symbols, not working for Fortune Wheel or Princess Bonus. Wilds are present on three reels, 2, 3 and 4.
Another symbol is the one called by the game a Fortune Reel Trigger. It’s the symbol with the Wishing You Fortune logo on it. The fortune wheel that it refers to can be seen at the top of the screen, a horizontal line of images which show you wild symbols and Anime characters. Whenever you get the Fortune Reel Trigger on the 3rd reel, you trigger a feature called Fortune Reel. It will spin and then it will stop on the Anime characters or on the Fortune Wild.
Fortune Wild brings you up to 5 wild symbols on the last four reels. A bonus feature starts if the other type of symbol is obtained from the Fortune Reel.
The game has free spins as well, 10 to 25 available, with different types of wild symbols, all of them sporting the same golden lion but with a different background color. The choice will determine what kind of multipliers you can get for the wins, the maximum one being at 30x.
What We Do Not Like
The payouts are low, which is normal for a game with ways to win, but luckily the free spins have huge multipliers to apply to them.
Worth Playing?
The design isn’t the one to convince me that it’s a slot worth pursuing. It’s the list of features that did this for me, especially the multipliers of up to 30x applied by wilds during the free spins.
