Georges St. Pierre Signs On As Poker Pro

Canadian UFC Champion Georges St. Pierre has announced that he is now part of 888 Poker’s professional team. He has recently signed a 12-month deal with the online poker operator to become an ambassador for the brand, including representing 888 in the 2012 World Series of Poker.

888 Poker players will also be able to compete against St. Pierre online in various events and promotions. The proceeds of these events will go towards benefitting his anti-bullying foundation.

"I am very excited to become a global brand ambassador for Team 888poker," says St. Pierre. In addition to enjoying the game of poker, he is also pleased that the partnership will generate funding for his foundation which donates to anti-bullying charities.

St. Pierre is not the only UFC star that has ventured into the online poker world, however. Recently, Randy Couture launched an annual poker charity tournament called Operation All In, while Chuck Lidell and Forrest Griffin have both participated in World Series of Poker events. UFC Fighter Mike Swick even played 10th in the 2010 WSOP.
