Bwin.Party Signs Deal with FIBA

Bwin.Party is the new superpower in the online gaming industry. As such, the newly merged company is seeking out partnerships with some of the biggest names in the sports world. The company has just announced a new deal with FIBA, extending its marketing and media rights agreement for the next 3 years.

As part of the agreement, Bwin.Party will promote some of FIBA’s biggest events, including the next two Eurobasket competitions, the FIBA world championships and the 2012 Olympics qualifiers. In addition, all FIBA tournaments will be streamed for free on Bwin.com for viewers in over 30 countries. This is a useful addition, as viewers can place live bets while watching the game on their favourite sportsbetting website.

Bwin greatly values its sports sponsorships and CEO Norbert Teufelberger believes that it is “an essential component of Bwin’s sports brand philosophy. The company focuses on three main sports: basketball, football and motorcycle racing.

FIBA is also pleased with the new partnership. The association believes that basketball is a great platform for sponsors, especially international basketball, a market that is growing quickly. FIBA also stated that they are working together with Bwin.Party to fight illegal betting practices and match-fixing.
