Lotto Max once again held its weekly Friday draw, and once again there was no winner of the $50 million jackpot prize. The grand prize rolls over into the following week, providing Canadian gamblers another opportunity to win a life changing sum of money.
According to the BCLC, the only amount of money won from the February 21 draw was one of the $1 million MaxMillions prizes. The ticketholder who won the prize is somewhere in BC, but lottery organizers have yet to confirm the identity of the winner.
When Lotto Max confirmed the jackpot was at its maximum value of $50 million, revenue from other ticket sales spilled over to increase the number of MaxMillions prizes up for grabs. Sales for the upcoming week are forecast to increase the number of MaxMillions prizes to 20, with the amount of money available from the draw set at $70 million.
Tickets for the February 28 draw can be purchased up until 9pm EST, the official time of the draw. The cost to play is $5, and provides each player three lines of numbers that could match the numbers selected on the night of the draw.
The numbers can match either the main draw or any of the numbers for MaxMillions, which for the upcoming draw could make up to 21 Canadians instant millionaires. Will you be playing the lottery to hedge your bets on becoming an instant millionaire?
