World Poker Tour Adding New Canadian Leg Of Tour At Fallsview Casino

The World Poker Tour wrapped up its Canadian main event at the Playground Poker Club in Montreal earlier this month.  The feedback from the Canadian event was overwhelmingly positive, and the WPT confirmed that a new event will be held in 2014 at Fallsview Casino in Niagara Falls.

Over the last two seasons of the WPT, Montreal has been the signature host city for the Canadian leg of the WPT tour.  The 2012 event set a new record for the number of registered poker players participating in a Canadian-held event, and the 2013 event followed the unprecedented successful year for Canadian poker players in tournaments around the world.

As a result, demand for poker is high in Canada, and the WPT responded accordingly.  The 2014 season will include the WPT Fallsview Poker Classic inside the Fallsview Casino from the dates of February 22 until February 24.

The three-day tournament will allow players only one entry, and require a deposit of $5,000.  Players can begin qualifying through satellite events in December through February as well as online on WPT-affiliated poker domains.

Greg Medulun, Director of Communications for Fallsview Casino, is thrilled the WPT chose to add a new Canadian leg of their global tour, and that the Niagara Falls casino will be hosts of the new tournament.

The return of the WPT is exciting news for all talented and notable poker enthusiasts.  Our casino is well-suited to host what will be a definite sold-out event given the added excitement WPT brings.

The WPT is holding its next major tournament in South Korea on December 15, shifting west through Europe and back to North America – arriving at Fallsview Casino in late February.
