PokerStars Hopeful About American Market

Now that Full Tilt Poker and PokerStars are working with the American government to right the wrongs they caused leading up to Black Friday, the two companies are hopeful that they can get a new start. With various states looking into online gambling legislation, now is the ideal time to make efforts to reenter the country’s gambling market; but, politicians are wary about working with the online poker operators.

According to Online Poker News, Eric Hollreiser of PokerStars announced that he would like to see his company enter into America’s regulated online gambling market. He stated that PokerStars and the American government came to an agreement that his company had committed no wrongdoing while it existed in the American market previously. This agreement will be particularly useful when PokerStars is being considered for a license in a particular state’s newly regulated gambling market.

Until then, PokerStars continues to have a difficult time improving its reputation among American politicians. In Nevada, a state which started working with PokerStars on online gambling regulation, politicians are wary about working with the company for a second time – even if they want to operate legally under an online gambling license.

It will take a lot of convincing for the American government to feel safe working with Full Tilt Poker and PokerStars ever again. However, it is hard to ignore that these two companies are the biggest online poker rooms out there today. It will only be a matter of time before Full Tilt and Stars find their place again, and the Poker Player’s alliance is quite confident.

“The Justice Department could have very easily banned PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker from the United States forever. Yet it chose not to,” says John Pappas of the PPA. @It chose to clearly recognize that online poker can and should be a viable industry in this country.”
