Jukepot is one of the latest slot machines to be launched on the market, and in this case we’re talking about a title released by NextGen. The theme of Jukepot has to do with the jukebox which inspired its name, but also with the typical place for such a machine to be in, an American diner.
As far as the reels are concerned, you’re getting the standard number of 5, and on them a total of 243 ways to win will be used. The modern line which the ways to win promise is continued with locked reels, with wild symbols which appear stacked and with free spins.
What We Love
One of the things to enjoy about this game is the vintage look, the slot’s design being inspired by the 50s style diners. A spotless version of a diner is shown behind the game area, while a jukebox is used as the support for the slot machine’s reels and betting options. The two main characters look the part as well, him wearing a black leather jacket and the kind of hair that Elvis would’ve had, while she is a waitress, with big hair and a red polka dot dress.
While you’re playing the game, with a bit of luck, you might trigger a feature which locks adjacent reels and makes them spin the same symbols. You can get anywhere between two and five locked reels, but it’s going to be triggered at random during the base game. Since ways to win are used, this feature should come in quite handy.
Another one that you will enjoy seeing is the Record Disk Wild. It’s a stacked wild, so you get better odds of landing it in at least one position, and that’s all you need in this game which doesn’t rely on paylines. You can get additional ones placed on the reels if the random Hot Rodded feature starts, where a hot rod car goes across the game area and places one stack of wilds. Wilds form combinations of their own, and they pay up to 500x if this happens with as many as five symbols.
If you happen to trigger the free spins, you will get 10 rounds to play for free and every single one will have locked reels, the feature I described above.
What We Do Not Like
A 500x top jackpot is my biggest complaint when it comes to Jukepot. Games with paylines generally can go to 5,000x or 10,000x, while those with ways to win pay up to 1,000x or 2,000x in other slot machines.
That vintage diner theme and the jukebox aren’t the only things that might attract you to this title. The features are also interesting, especially the locked reels.
