Laak and Esfandiari to Play Heads Up in Canada

If you’re a fan of professional poker, then you probably already know about the fun, tight-knit relationship between Phil Laak an Antonio Esfandiari. The two poker pros have a long history of being good friends and competitive rivals. Although they seem to have taken a break from their antics recently, the pair have announced that they will be going head-to-head in an upcoming poker tournament in Canada.

Laak and Esfandiari will be competing against each other in a heads-up competition at the Playground Poker Club in Kahnawake just outside of Montreal. The $2200 buy-in event will be structured as a best of 3 competition, and will take place from March 1 to March 4.

With 32 other players in the field, Laak and Esfandiari will see who will outlast the other. Whomever loses will have to perform a ‘humiliation’ ritual. The two players have been known to carry out competitions like this, and even had their own television showed based on their exploits, called “I’ll Bet You”.

From March 3rd to the 4th, there will be a special $550 buy-in tournament hosted by Laak and Esfandiari. An impressive prize pool of more than $100 000 is up for grabs, encouraging players from across the country to take part.
