
Microgaming has negotiated online slots licensing agreements with numerous TV and movie franchises over the past year, and appears to have no signs of slowing down. The online casino games developer confirmed it signed an agreement with HBO Global Licensing to develop an online slots game based off the popular series, Game of Thrones.

The series is set in medieval times revolving around royalty, knights, and noblemen vying for control of the throne. Game of Thrones was elated by numerous TV critics, and the show has been nominated for a number of awards.
HBO, the network that broadcasts the show, holds the right to license merchandise and other entertainment venues out to third parties. Game of Thrones has a massive global following, and the network recognized the global phenomenon of online gambling could help engage with many of the show’s devoted fans.

There is no official launch date for the Game of Thrones online slot, but Raatgever did say the goal is to go live before the end of 2014.
