Ask any Viking in the world and they will tell you that dragons are not your friends, but that is not the case with the oriental, Chinese culture where Dragons are considered creatures of power, nobility, luck and fortune.
Fortunately enough, Dragon’s Temple is not a Viking-themed game, but just another in line of good old Chinese games taking you into the soothing world of orient with as many as five differently coloured dancing dragons waiting to reward you with life-changing prizes.
Five reels of this frequently rewarding game have 50 paylines built inside with symbols paying from left to right in two of a kind combination, which only increases your winning potential. Expanding Wilds, Wild Reels and Free Spins are there to take the excitement to another level.
What We Love
Dragon’s Temple might look like a boring Chinese theme once you first lay eyes on simply crafted reels which are not exactly considered the state of the art in a graphical sense of the word.
IGT have compensated for the lack of the visual appeal with their highly entertaining features, starting off from expanding Wild dragons which crawl out to fill the entire reel and increase your winning chances.
It becomes fully stacked only when it is part of a winning combination, but once it makes the entire reel Wild it automatically gives you a chance to line another win that would not have been possible otherwise.
Dragon’s Temple is a highly volatile game. IGT have made sure players win frequently as you only need two matching symbols to activate a win, which is quite a nice little detail.
Still, you need three Scatter symbols to initiate the Free Spins bonus, which is where all the fun is.
A choice of three different bonus modes will be presented to you once you initiate the bonus round. There are 5, 10 and 15 free spins at your disposal with each bonus mode complemented with a different number of fully stacked Wild reels, which remain fixed for the duration of the feature.
There is a nice range of options as you choose one which suits you best. Don’t let the number of free spins fool you, each of the three bonus rounds can bring quite hefty rewards.
What We Do Not Like
We kind of scraped on the surface above, IGT did not exactly create an eye-catching game. Visually speaking there is nothing to this game’s graphics to bring the “WOW” factor that would mesmerise you from the first moment you launch the game.
IGT apparently wanted to achieve the authentic, vintage look and hide the inner goods of their game and if that was the case they succeeded. Still, it is only a Chinese theme and not all gamers will be patient enough to learn about the life-changing rewards this game has to offer.
And there is another aspect of the game we are not exactly keen on. Dragon’s Temple is quite an expensive slot and IGT could expect a limited audience for their brand new title. Available from $0.50 as initial bet all the way up to $600 as the maximum stake, Dragon’s Temple does indeed offer great rewards, but at great cost.
Dragon’s Temple is a rewarding game which will pay whenever you land at least two matching symbols. Frequent wins does not help us forget the fact you need $0.50 to get in and hit the spin button however.
Talking from the personal point of view Dragon’s Temple might look like a fun and exciting game despite the lack of visual appeal, given the available betting range, it is clearly designed for high rollers.
