Montreal-based Amaya Gaming Group Inc announced it will continue supporting DC Comics characters under a new agreement with Warner Bros. The Canadian gambling operating platform has a deal in place with the production company’s consumer products division to exclusively design online casino games based off the popular comic book characters.
Amaya will offer real-money games based off classic comic book stories that include characters such as Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman. The success of the Christopher Nolan Batman movie trilogy has secured the Dark Knight character’s popularity amongst fans, and efforts are underway to relaunch the Superman franchise with a similar rebooted movie trilogy. There has also been discussion of a Justice League crossover movie as a result of Marvel Studios’ multi-million dollar success with the Avengers.
As a result, Warner Bros hopes to capitalize on the popularity of its DC characters with new product placement strategies, which include online casino games. Amaya Product Strategy Director Alain Brosseau says the extended agreement ensures Warner Bros and DC will benefit from Amaya’s latest features and applications.
“We are also pleased to announce that new 3D games will be developed for distribution over both desktop computers and mobile devices for players around the world who enjoy the DC Comics comic book-inspired characters.”
Amaya designs games and applications using realistic graphics and animations – features that have allowed the company to build an impressive reputation in the online gambling community. Media franchises like Warner Bros recognize the value of real-money gaming applications based on popular characters, and utilize Amaya’s strengths to develop branded online casino games. The partnership has been successful for both companies, and the extended agreement was a natural choice to continue the mutually beneficial arrangement.
Amaya has also entered the growing mobile gambling market with smartphone applications of its online casino games. The agreement with Warner Bros ensures the DC characters will have a home on Amaya’s mobile gambling platform.
