$25 Million Lottery Winner To Help Friends and Family With Winnings

On January 21, Tim and Kendolyn Elliot discovered that they had won the $25 million grand prize from Lotto 6/49. Rather than making plans to buy a new home or car, the couple has made some very selfless plans.

The couple won the $25 million jackpot simply by buying a $13 ticket. It was the only ticket in Canada to match all six numbers that week. When Tim informed his wife of the win, she assumed it was a prank a call, but hesitantly started to believe him.

The Elliot family told the Winnipeg Free Press that their first priority would be to help their friends and family with their winnings. While most people who win the lottery begin making big plans for vacations and new material items, the Elliots’ are happy with their modest plans for their huge prize.

The couple’s second priority is to retire to the Okanagan Valley in British Columbia. Tim, who currently works in the oil industry in Alberta, has stated that he may not stay retired for very long, but is looking forward to some time off.
