Family Guy is one of the recently released titles from IGT and it’s also created under official license. The inspiration for it obviously came from Family Guy, the animation TV show that proved to be such a hit in the last couple of years.
The game does very well for a licensed title, using images and sound bites from the series, giving the player some good features and activating up to 30 lines each round. IGT placed inside wild symbols, scatters and bonus games.
What We Love
If you enjoyed the TV show, you’re sure to love the slot machine which was created based on it. You will find on its reels all the major characters from the show, and a random one will speak up and say something funny after each spin that you trigger. Add to this the fact that they took the images of the characters from the series, and that in the background you have the home of the Griffins, and you have everything you could want to enjoy it as a fan.
It doesn’t stop at just the graphics though. It also places quite a few good features inside, starting with the wild symbol which is the tamest one you could have. It’s the kind of wild which substitutes for all regular symbols and which can form paying combinations which offer the slot’s biggest prizes. It doesn’t have multipliers though, doesn’t expand and doesn’t come in stacked.
The World Bonus is a much better feature that the slot offers. It has its own scatter symbol with the World Bonus Logo on it, and when you have three of them on the middle three reels a bonus game will trigger. You have to spin a globe, and you will be offered one of the three potential features (The Drunken Clam, Chicken Fight or Lois Hot Free Spins).
The first two are regular bonus games which pay well (up to 1,000 coins) and can even apply some multipliers of up to 5x. The third one is going to bring you 10 free spins initially, with the chance to win more.
What We Do Not Like
The only thing I wasn’t a fan of is the betting system. It’s not that you don’t have the option to use fewer lines, it’s the fact that they require you to wager extra in order to get access to the features, without actually giving you the option not to do that.
You always bet with 50 coins, 30 for the paylines and 20 for the features. Without that extra wager, it would just be a game with wild symbols, and that’s it.
It’s worth trying out if you love Family Guy and you want to check out the slot machine as well. It’s not that great if you consider that you have to pay extra for the best features, while for a regular bet you get only a wild symbol.
