Caesars Entertainment launched a corporate wide challenge amongst 40 of its locations to raise donations for breast cancer awareness, which was orchestrated to build towards Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Caesars Windsor has proudly reported they finished second in the corporate campaign, which will result in an extra $8,000 donated on to the Canadian Cancer Society from the charity group in Las Vegas called Caesars Foundation. Caesars Windsor CEO Kevin Laforet says the second place finish amongst all Caesars Entertainment locations showcases Windsor’s commitment to raising awareness for breast cancer research.
The corporate wide contest was primarily about donations at each location, but also included things such as employees participating in community events, internal employee donations, and partnering with organizations whose work surrounds cancer research. Caesars Windsor succeeded in all of these categories by coordinating with the Canadian Cancer Society, and generating upwards of $60,000 in donations for all of 2012. Laforet says the Windsor casino is committed to the battle against cancer and is humbled to have been recognized as one of the top awareness venues in the entire Caesars Corporation.
“To be recognized for our efforts across 40 properties and be able to provide an additional $8,000 to this cause gives me an incredible sense of pride to be part of the Caesars organization.”
The Canadian Cancer Society expressed their gratitude for the hard work and donations generated by Caesars Windsor, and look forward to continuing to work together in the fight against cancer. Essex branch Manager Judy Lund says the contributions made through Caesars will help the Society with plans for a transportation program to ensure cancer patients will safely arrive at their medical and hospital appointments.

Caesars Windsor is the first Las Vegas style casino in Canada, which also makes it the largest of all Canadian casinos. It has been the recipient of multiple awards for its services including best gaming resort in Canada, 13 Four Diamond Hotel awards, and now the distinction of being one of the top Caesars locations to champion the fight against cancer.
