The NetEnt brand of online casino games is fast proving itself as one of the most in demand online casino offerings even in the U.S. The highly reputed Swedish games developer announced before the weekend that a new content deal has been brokered with New Jersey’s Golden Nugget online casino.
Although NetEnt still has to receive approval of its license from the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement, Golden Nugget is already the third NJ online casino operator waiting in the wings for the deployment of NetEnt games into its gaming platform. The two other groups are the Borgata-Bwin.Party tandem and Caesars Interactive, who all inked a deal with the prestigious gaming software company in June 2015.
The Managing Director of NetEnt Americas, Björn Krantz, remarked in the announcement that the content partnership deal signed with Golden Nugget, strengthens the trust and confidence of their partner operators with NetEnt’s technical and operational capabilities. Mr. Krantz added that it makes him proud and at the same time excited, because in continuing with their go-to-market approach in the U.S., they were able to land a deal of furnishing a full suite of top of the line multi-channel games to Golden Nuggets’ broad New Jersey customer base . Mr. Krantz voiced his confidence that NetEnt’s portfolio of online casino game offerings will be well-received by Golden Nuggets’ players.
The Vice President of Online Gaming at Golden Nugget, Thomas Winter commented that his company maintains a firm ambition to always bring the ultimate playing experience to customers, having the largest catalogue of real-money online casino games in NJ. His statement conveyed that Golden Nugget sees NetEnt as a well-recognized and prominent provider of gaming solutions that include one of the most innovative and original library of online casino games in the market, for both desktop and mobile gaming.
The multi-licensed Swedish gaming software company had established the North America Division in 2014, with a goal to bring its highly acclaimed portfolio of best-in-industry online casino games to the burgeoning online gambling industry in the U.S. as well as in Canada.
In order to speed up the process, NetEnt entered into an Intellectual Property (IP) Patent cross-license agreement with IGT in June 2015. The IGT IP-license deal enables the Swedish games developer to offer online contents that make use of IGT-patented game features. That way, NetEnt can fast track its entry in the North American market, since IGT has the largest portfolio of approved IP patents for slot game features in the North American region. Some of the popular IGT features that will be incorporated as NetEnt game attributes are the Stacked Wilds, the Tumbling Reels, the Split Symbol, the End-to-End Symbols, as well as IGT’s Multi-Way and Multi-Way Xtra Pay.
Shortly thereafter, and while awaiting approval of its NJ license, the NetEnt North America division was able to negotiate online gaming content deals with the NJ Bwin-Borgata partnership and with Caesars Interactive. The rumor mill has it that NetEnt’s next potential target is the State of Pennsylvania, where hearings and discussions regarding proposals to introduce laws that will legalize online gambling, have already taken place.
