Hard Rock Casino Goes National On New Year’s Eve With OLP

The newly branded Hard Rock Casino in Vancouver debuted on December 20 to rave reviews from gambling enthusiasts and entertainment critics.  The casino tapped into the rock n roll heritage in the city, and paid tribute to legendary performers of the past alongside a batch of new casino games.

The venue will also set the stage for a popular New Year’s Eve concert on Tuesday when Canadian alternative rock band Our Lady Peace delivers a year-ending performance.  Casino executives have now confirmed that the concert will be televised nationally, allowing Canadians coast to coast to witness the staying power of OLP.

Live rock bands fits the Hard Rock Casino brand image as a venue for musical entertainment alongside casino gaming.  Included in the new casino image is a tribute to legendary guitarist Jimi Hendrix, as well as other leading rock n roll icons – including Canadian-born Neil Young.

The OLP concert also allows the Hard Rock Casino to gather national publicity while still in its infant stages.  The casino was previously known as the Boulevard Casino located along the waterfront of the Frasier River.  But the new brand image includes plans to become a more nationally known casino entertainment centre, and the New Year’s Eve concert plays a direct hand in that goal.

Tickets to the show are available for $99.50, but guests can also pay an extra $40 to take part in a special pre-show reception.  The pre-show will include complimentary champagne to start off the New Year’s Eve celebration, and will be attended by the band members.
