Ever since the United States government gave the green light to legalize sports gambling here in the US, it seems no state has jumped onboard quicker and with more enthusiasm than New Jersey. That should come as no surprise to many folks on the east coast as former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie has been banging the drum for many years on how legalizing sports gambling could not only bring a big surplus to his state, but to every state in the country.

While sportsbooks are opening at several casinos in Atlantic City, including Bally’s Wild Wild West, Golden Nugget, and Harrah’s, online casino wagering is starting to solidify itself as well.

The potential for millions of dollars pouring into New Jersey from sports wagering is certainly there, and getting online action will only make sports gambling that much more profitable for The Garden State. Just the convenience level alone will attract sports enthusiasts from across the state, especially in the cold winter months.

So far, six operators are preparing to try to get into the online wagering action in New Jersey, with a seventh participant joining in just this week.

Just last week 888 Holdings became the latest company to debut a sports betting site in the New Jersey industry. 888 Holdings is one of biggest and best in the gambling business not just here in the US, but all across the globe.

With markets in the UK, Italy, Spain, Romania, Denmark, and Ireland, they are now expanding in America with New Jersey and Delaware joining in behind Nevada.

The global gaming giant will join forces with several others in New Jersey, including William Hill. Of the seven companies who have already entered the online market in New Jersey, William Hill and 888 Holdings are the only two that have experience outside of the United States.

Interestingly enough, 888 Holdings didn’t get off to the best start in America, but that kind of comes with the territory. The US doesn’t offer as many gaming options as other countries do when it comes to online wagering, at least as of yet.

While everything is still in its infancy, the 888 Holdings site (888 Sport NJ) may have the most options and advantages for online players. Early indications show that the online giant will have 28 markets to choose from (as compared to 9-12) from the others. 888 Sport NJ will have options like tennis, soccer, NASCAR, F1 race car driving, and NCAA Lacrosse.
