Tim Horton’s annual Roll-Up-The-Rim contest is underway, and franchises across Canada are lined up with coffee lovers playing the odds of the promotion. Every year, Tim Hortons offers millions of prizes through the promotion and Canadians are more than willing to take a gamble by rolling up the rim of the coffee cups. But in recent years, Tim Horton’s has added to the contest with the launch of ‘Rockin’ RRRoll Up Roulette’ for online and mobile players.
The Roll-Up-The-Rim contest was first introduced in 1986, and has expanded its size and popularity every year since its introduction. The Rockin’ Roulette application is a new addition to the contest as Tim Horton’s incorporates modern technology to the classic game. The Roll-Up-The-Rim contest is considered a culturally accepted method of gambling, and Tim Horton’s has run with that distinction by introducing online and mobile roulette.
Unlike a real roulette game that requires players to bet their chips, Rockin’ Roulette requires no money to play, and is open to all Canadian residents over the age of 13. Players are invited to register online or through their smartphones for the Rockin’ RRRoll Up Roulette application, although registration does require personal information such as email, address, and phone number.
After establishing an account, players can spin the Tim’s Roulette wheel once a day for a chance to win $25 Tim cards and free Universal Music downloads for songs, as well as accumulate points for free spins at the end of the promotion. Once a week, Tim Horton’s will issue a $100 Tim card prize in what is called the ‘free coffee for a year’ reward. However, as players accumulate points for free spins, they become eligible to win the grand prize of a VIP experience with Phillip Phillips, who is a crowned winner of American Idol.
The Roll-Up-The-Rim promotion began on February 18, and will continue until all special coffee cups are used up. The Rockin’ Roulette app began on the same day, but is scheduled to finish on March 17 – after which the “VIP Extra Day Of Play” will be held on March 20. Are you ready to play?
