Hot on the heels of the Black Friday crackdown, Canadian poker brand HeadsUp Entertainment is launching a new poker championship series. To give displaced Canadian players an outlet for their poker needs, the new Poker Championship in Canada is expected to be an exciting, high-energy event for poker-playing Canucks.
Satellites for the poker championship will take place on October 1st and 2nd at six of the casinos that HeadsUp Entertainment runs: Dakota Dunes Casino, Bear Claw Casino, Gold Eagle Casino, Living Sky Casino Northern Lights Casino and the Painted Hand Casino.
The championship and all satellites will take place across Saskatchewan, but players from all over Canada are invited to attend. The province has a diverse poker scene, but has yet to be put on the map for it, and this series of tournaments will bring some well-deserved attention to the poker market in Saskachewan.
The announcement of this new tournament series comes at an opportune time, as the Quebec Poker Tournament League has suspended its operations until a dispute with Loto Quebec is settled. It is likely that Canadian poker players who had plan to play in Quebec tournaments will now focus their attention on Saskatchewan’s Poker Championship in Canada, marking a victory for HeadsUp Entertainment.
