Canadian Man Scores Big Win from Blown NFL Call

To say that a lot of people were unhappy with the blown call during the game between the Green Bay Packers and the Seattle Seahawks would be understatement.  To say that a lot of people were happy the call led to them losing a lot of money would be an outright lie.  However contrary to the rest of the masses, one Canadian man is the exception who should be down on his hands and knees thanking the replacement refs for their incompetence.

Gino DiFelice an Ontario resident is smiling from the good fortune that can come from bad calls.  What was a $5 bet for the underdog Seahawks to take the game turned into a $725,274 victory because the touchdown that was allowed from the blown call gave him a perfect coverage on the spread.

Many other gamblers were obviously not as elated as DiFelice at the blown outcome.  Some who are loyal Packers fans were crushed to see their team get cheated, as well as angry for losing so much money; there were probably many unreported smashed TVs the night of the game.  According to sportsbetting analysts based out of Las Vegas over $150 million in bets worldwide suddenly shifted as a result of the blown call; many online sportsbetting sites suggest that number actually lies closer to the $250 million mark.

For DiFelice though the unlikely stroke of luck is definitely a nice return on a simple $5 bet.  He spoke to QMI press agency after his winning ticket was officially vouched and thanked his daughter for her suggestions on which teams to bet on.

“The funniest part is, the ticket I made all of the picks myself, I only got four right.”

With the official refs now back on the field any blown calls that are this obvious should be laid to bed which should reassure betters that their money will not be swung to a loss so suddenly.  But if DiFelice’s story has any advice it’s this; whoever your loved ones say to bet on, do it.
