Playing Pai Gow Poker Online
Onlinecasino.org News | 07.08.2008 | 12:03:15 | Views: 186 | Casino NewsPai Gow Poker is a great variation on traditional poker that can be played in land based or online casinos. It originated from the Chinese game Pai Gow (which is played with Chinese Dominos) and was created by Sam Torosian and Fred Wolf.
Pai Gow Poker is played with a deck of 52 cards and a joker with six players and a dealer or banker. Players are dealt seven cards and are required to make two hands of poker with them (a two-card hand and a five-card hand). The object of the game is to of course, beat the dealer.
Players try to beat the dealer with BOTH their hands in order to win money. If only one of your hands manages to beat the dealer you would push (neither win nor loose). Of course if the dealer manages to beat both your hands you would lose your bet, if you beat both of the dealers, you win!
The two-card hand in Pai Gow poker is ranked as pairs or high cards. The five-card hand follows the same rankings as those of a standard poker game. The joker (depending on the casino) can be played as an ace or even a wild card.
Playing two hands in Pai Gow poker makes for a game of great odds that you can usually play for a decent amount of time. But watch out! If you don't arrange your hands properly (i.e. 5-card hand needs to outrank your 2-card hand) you might have to take a penalty!
