Past Motown Stars Celebrate Worldwide Opening of Online Casino HitsVille

Land developer Herb Strather, hosted a private reception with former motown stars on March 24, 2007, to celebrate the worldwide opening of his online casino, HitsVilleCasino.com.

Over 200 guests arrived for the reception which included a buffet dinner, and a fantastic 'Blues Rhythm' show which was written and directed by Lisa McCall.

The evening's performance showcased one-night-only appearances by Payne and Lee, Detroit-based recording artist. Tickets to the show were $100 per guest with all proceeds going towards the Optimist Youth Foundation of Detroit.

One of the guests, Frank Carswell of Fenton, mingled with guests in Bert's motown room, telling everyone that he is Reda Payne's number one fan.

"I went all the way to New York once because she was appearing there," he said about the singer who gained popularity in the 70's for hits like 'Band of Gold' and 'Bring the Boys Home.'

At the celebration for HitsVilleCasino, guests were thrilled to get the opportunity to chat with many former motown stars including the Four Tops, Laura Lee, Brenda Holloway, the Velvelettes, Gino Washington, Payne, her sister Scherrie (the final lead singer of the Supremes), Joe Billingslea of the Contours, Kim Weston, and Carl Carlton.
