Last Tuesday, over 5 million US BlackBerry users experienced 10 hours of technical problems leading to a nationwide blackout.

The event stranded so many frustrated Blackberry users, which only goes to show how extremely dependent people are with their mobile phones and PDA's.

The public is still searching for answers as to why the blackout occurred, however, Research in Motion, the Canadian company that makes the Blackberry, shed some light on the situation by stating, "The root cause is currently under review."

Since Blackberry users are concerned that this event may happen again, online gambling firm, BetUS.com posted odds on Blackberry's next blackout, which gives Blackberry users the opportunity to make money the next time they'll remain without their favourite mobile device.

Spokesperson for BetUS.com, Reed Richards, said, "The blackout really showed how dependent everyone is on technology."

"For 10 hours people got to live a world without email, Internet, and cell phones, and they could not handle it," he added.

Odds on when the next Blackberry blackout will occur are before November 30, 2007 at 2/1, and after that date are 1/3.
