June’s Most Popular Poker Sites

Onlinecasino.org News | 03.07.2008 | 12:28:47 | Views: 366 | Casino News

It’s evident that the growth in popularity of playing poker has seen a huge boom over the last several years.

The popularity of poker isn't just growing in land based casinos either. These days you can watch live poker tournaments (like the WSOP) on TV or check out one of the many great poker/casino movies (like Maverick, Casino Royale, The Ocean's series and Rounders) – Not to mention that someone in your circle of friends or family is probably hosting a poker night next week!

And with the introduction of online poker rooms, satellite-qualifying tournaments and the invention of the hole-card camera, the 21st century has seen a huge spike in poker popularity.

And with that popularity comes big traffic to online poker rooms. So who takes the tops in the online world? The month of June saw some staple poker sites stay on top and some newbie's make some impressive leaps.

PokerListings.com released its top-10 list of most popular virtual poker environments/sites. Coming in at #1 with 12,856 players was the ever popular PokerStars.com. 2nd place went to FullTilt.com with 6,774 and 3rd to TitanPoker.com with 4,959. PartyPoker.com was 4th with 4,290 and MansionPoker.com and EverestPoker.com tied for 5th with 2,694.

One of the more impressive sites to make the list was DoylesRoom.com who saw a 101% increase in player traffic from May to June. This feat only landed them at 7th once the numbers were tabulated but definitely shows the sites future capabilities.

8th place went to UltimateBet.com (1,253), 9th to AbsolutePoker.com (with a 15% increase to 1,208) and finally Poker.BodogLife.com (with 935).

Numbers were calculated based on daily, simultaneous log in user counts for the month of June.
