Online poker website, PokerStars.com, has announced its new Director of Partners and Affiliates, Edward Ihre.

Ihre will be solely responsible for developing PokerStars' global portfolio of affiliate and commercial partners, as well as identifying and optimising new growth opportunities.

Ihre is originally from Stockholm, where he worked for Ongame/Safeplay Ltd. He has an extensive gaming background and is also fluent is Swedish, English and French.

As Director of Partners and Affiliates, Ihre will be moving to the company's headquarters on the Isle of Man, and will be in charge of the delivery of traffic to PokerStars.com through an array of on and offline marketing activities.

When Ihre was working at Ongame/Safeplay, he completely re-designed and restructured its affiliate program, turning an unknown company, to one of the most recognized in the industry.

Ongame/Safeplay was extremely pleased with his work having improved the rankings and new customers across five different online poker sites. Some of Ihre's other achievements include two years as the Managing Director of Parbet Ltd in London, England.
