Casino Ads Banned By Google

Onlinecasino.org News | 24.01.2007 | 12:31:36 | Views: 466 | Casino News

Online casinos will be banned from advertising websites on the worlds largest search engine, Google.com.

Google HQ made this voluntary decision after being reported in marketing media. Google and its rival Yahoo both have been warned off by the US Justice Department authorities for promoting gambling though advertising pop-ups indirectly to underage users.

Yahoo's decision only applies to the United States; however, Google plans to extend the ban worldwide since justice officials have already been exercising a major crackdown on all aspects of Internet gambling.

This recent information follows reports that the US Justice Department will be forcing banks in the UK to fork over information regarding their business with many online poker websites.

It is quite obvious that the Department of Justice is targeting online websites that trade their stock publicly on the London Stock Exchange, such as 888 Holdings and PartyGaming.

Based in the United States, Google Inc. specializes in Internet Search and online advertising. Google was co-founded by Larry Page and Sergey Brin, and was first incorporated as a privately held company on September 7, 1998. Eric Schmidt has been Google's chief executive officer since Larry Page stepped down in 2001.

Google's mission statement is: "To organize the world's information and make it universally accessible and useful."
