Canadian Poker Television Network to Launch in March 2010Onlinecasino.org News | 03.02.2010 | 11:30:28 | Views: 325 | Casino NewsIn the poker world, there seems to be a lack of Canadian television programming. Celebrity Poker Showdown and High Stakes Poker are great shows, but they are geared towards American audiences. Canada has a huge poker playing community of over 3.5 million players and it’s about time that we got out own network. Well, HeadsUp Entertainment is meeting that demand with Canadian Poker Player Television, a new online channel that will feature original programming targeted at both Canadian and International audiences. So far, HeadsUp Entertainment has already created 20 hours of original programming, including coverage Canadian poker events and appearances from poker pros like Phil Hellmuth, Gaving Smith and Jennifer Tilly. There will also be a wide range of documentary programming, such as behind-the-scenes footage from the Canadian Poker Tour. 888 Poker will be one of the first network sponsors, a partnership that will certainly benefit both parties and open up new marketing opportunities for online poker operators. “Having the ability to reach large scale audiences with on to the promotions, I am excited to be able to deliver a medium of innovation for content delivery”, says HeadsUp CEO Kelly B. Kellner. On March 5th, the network will launch it’s beta stream. Players will be able to stream scheduled programs as well as view archived material on demand. The network will work directly with Canadian Poker Player Magazine, in order to provide viewers with an in-depth look at the Canadian poker industry.
