Betsson Yearly Profits High

Onlinecasino.org News | 23.02.2007 | 12:06:41 | Views: 219 | Casino News

Betsson, Swedish online casino and gambling firm, has published its Full Year Report for 2006, which ended on a high note.

For the full year from January 1-December 31, 2006, Betsson's recorded revenue increased by 93 percent on the previous year to $55 million, with an operating profit of $8.4 million.

During the fourth quarter of 2006, Betsson's revenue increased by 100 percent, and operating profits increased as well by 183 percent.

The number of customers has definitely increased the amount of activity that is responsible for the increase in profits for the company.

Betsson's online office is based in Malta, and offers a wide range of online gaming products to its customers. As well as online casino and poker, they company offers betting exchanges, sports betting, and lotteries.

There are still some discrepencies as to what affect the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act will have on the firm. Since the act prohibits any form of online gambling transactions, and is trying to prevent US customers from betting online, Betsson had to shut down CasinoDomain.com, which had mainly American customers.

All of their US clientele were removed from their other online casinos, CasinoEuro.com and CherryCasino.com as well. Betsson believes that the US is only a non-priority market for them, and has been concentrating their efforts on the European market instead.
